Episode 10 of the Peak Routes Podcast is the first to be recorded using my new Zoom H1 and it features a walk starting at the Monsal Head Hotel. Firstly I wander down Monsal Dale to Cressbrook Mill, from there I head up Cressbrook Dale itself, through the National Nature Reserve up to Gibbet Rock aka Peter’s Stone. I tell a gruesome tale about Peter’s Stone while sitting at the top, I then head through Litton, down Litton Dale to Tideswell Dale. I weave my way down to Miller’s Dale, through Litton Mill and then back through the Wye Valley towards Monsal Dale. When I arrive back at Cressbrook Mill I cross over the river to pick up the Monsal Trail to the Headstone Viaduct. After crossing the viaduct I turn off up to the Monsal Head Hotel and arrive back at my car. You can read the blog post which has a route map and lots of images at Peak District – Monsal, Cressbrook, Tideswell & Miller’s Dale.

If you would like to listen to other episodes of the podcast then you can find them by heading to the dedicated Peak Routes Podcast Section.
