Bushcraft – Chatsworth, Hob Hurst’s House & Forest Wild Camp

In this video I catch the bus to Baslow and then have a gentle stroll through the picturesque Chatsworth Estate. I follow the River Derwent down towards Beeley and then head up on to the moors to visit Hob Hurst’s House which is a 3,000 year old burial mound. From there I make my way over to our usual forest camp location to meet up with Jay, Tiny and Mark. A great night was had by all and not even the rain was enough to dampen our spirits.

  1. Looks like a great night! I enjoyed the video (just having a catch up) – it must be Australia time now – hope it’s a brilliant trip and I’ll look forward to seeing the other Derwent!

    1. Hi Louise, thanks for watching the video and for taking the time to comment. I’m currently packing the suitcases as we fly on Tuesday evening, really looking forward to it šŸ™‚ fingers crossed I’ll be posting videos and also images to my other website http://www.DeanRead.net

  2. Your videos are spot on Dean. I used to spend a lot of time wild camping a few years back and it tailed off with work and stuff – you’re videos are getting the juices flowing and I’m planning my next trip; a winter camp at Mermaids Pool on Kinder (from yout other video). Keep it up mate.
